Formed in January of 2006 by guitarist/singer/songwriter Ariel Pope and drummer/songwriter Cj Minyard,Sepsis has quickly developed into a local favorite. After the cousins started practicing and Cj's newfound drumming talents were quickly explored, the duo started writing fresh new music that has quickly gotten attention even from Little Rock's Radio stations. After The addition of Will "Beast" Smith on bass and backing vocals in May of 2006,the group finally found the live sound they were looking for. Ariel Pope, after being inspired by his uncle and playing guitar for five years, found a local band at his college to join. This band was called Sora and would later be named Bulla after the rhythm guitatist - Chris Bulla. This is where he met Will "Beast" Smith, who would later become the bassist and backing vocalist for Sepsis. Ariel, after about a year, made the decision to leave the band and start writing his own music. With no band to back him, Ariel decided to join another band with Will and Chris (SevenHeads) and was graciously met with open arms. After practicing with SevenHeads for six months and needing a drummer, Ariel and Will, in their drunken states, decided to throw Ariel's cousin (Cj) on the drums to goof around. After finding that Cj had raw, natural talent for the drums, Ariel and Will furiously got him up to speed on his drumming techniques. After throwing in a double bass pedal and Cj picking it up and playing well on it the first time he tried, Ariel saw a heavier calling for Cj's drumming talents. In January of 2006, Sepsis was born as a side project and quickly became Ariel and Cj's primary focus. After writing three songs and getting a myspace profile for the group, Ariel sent "In a Dream" to 100.3 "The Edge" and Sepsis got airplay on the local music show. Will heard the new sound and joined the group soon afterwards. Sepsis quickly tightened up their sound with the fresh basslines and deafening screams of "Beast". With radio airplay and massive support by people in various states across the nation, Sepsis is getting ready to play some of their first live shows. With opportunities to play all across Arkansas and places in Tenessee, Sepsis is soon to be rolling and will be a force to be reckoned with.
