Lil Rome was born Jerome Stevens Jr in Lafayette, Louisiana on October 3, 1984. He was always around music being that his father was in the entertainment business. As a 3 year old, Lil Rome remembers going to his father's concerts hosting groups such as Salt N' Pepper, 2 Live Crew, Temptations and a host of other big name artist. The family packed up and moved to Santa Maria, Ca to seek a more safe place to live, one fit for raising children (Lil Rome and his older sister, Sharla). Lil Rome started rapping off and on since an early age imitating artist such as Run Dmc, Tupac, and other artist. He didn't write his first full song until he was 14 years of age. While his father was looking for an artist to make it big with, Lil Rome would just wait. He new if his father found the right artist to make it big with that it would be easier to be recognized with his fathers connections that he would make. In early 2000, Lil Rome's father was picked to manage the latin artist Lil Rob. He had got Lil Rob his BIG DEAL with Upstairs Records. The whole family was excited, but no one more than Lil Rome was. He new this would help him a lot also. Due to his father's trust of Lil Rob, the management contracts between Lil Rob and his father were not made up and signed right away. Upstairs records pulled Lil Rob aside (behind his father's back) and talked him into getting Lil Rome's father out of the picture. That's just what happened. With the whole family down, Lil Rome took a break from his writing and recording. He started back up again in 2005 and now is only writing and recording music for the love it and all the joy it brings him.
