Developing his own buzz, he is taking the rap game by surprise, bringing fans a quality sound that's deliberate and unique, justifying his relevance in the rap game. With a style that can be described as "gangsta-smooth", he is often compared to Brooklyn rapper Fabolous for his laid-back style and Prodigy of Mobb Deep for his brazen reality. The scope of his life story brings reality to his music. "My music is definitely hood, but its not your average hood, I make REAL music any hood can feel" - Steis. Steis was born and raised in Dorchester, MA. a small town within the city of Boston. It is a neighborhood that has an infamous history of crime, violence and drug-related activity, perpetuated in the late eighties. With limited opportunities for artists to express themselves, few if any, have been able to rise above, gain notoriety and make an impact as an artist. Growing up in a large family of four sisters and one brother, Steis developed his own dynamic identity and hip-hop provided him the opportunity to express all of his life challenges. While his parents struggled to provide a middle class upbringing, Steis would write rhymes with his friend, Vlad a.k.a. Jimmy Charles, dreaming of bringing their harsh realities to the world through their music. However, unable to buck a staggering statistic, Steis got caught up in the streets and real life events like the death of a good friend, a brief stint in jail and the birth of his first daughter, really impacted his decision to pursue his passion for making music.[color="blue"][/color]
