In autumn 2005 the band is formed of 4 pupils to get the audiences dancing shoes on. They want to do Indie music such like Franz Ferdinand, Mando Diao and Maximo Park, with a little bit of jazzy influences. In decembre they are playing their first 2 gigs. In the beginning of 2006 they're playing a huge number of gigs, winning a lot of fans. In March 2006 Ludwig Van are they are winning the 1st price and the audience award of a local bandcontest. The band is playing the whole year in northern Germany, Dresden and Denmark, with bands such like Trashmonkeys, Tempeau and One Fine Day. In Winter 06/07 is their first EP released, recorded with a friend of the Band. In early 2007 LUDWIG VAN is taking part in School Jam 2007, a german Schoolband-contest. They are reaching the finale online voting of 30 bands in nearly 1000 applicants. They are not reaching the finale show, but in the voting on spiegel.de they are no. 3. In summer 2007 the band will be release their 1st self-recorded album with a lot of tour dates following!
