I am the Band...the Band is Me! Don't get me wrong though, I'm defintely looking for something more satisfying than playing with myself! I'm the purest musician I know...but that's not my ego talking. I'm a dime a dozen! (I'm just having a hard time finding the other eleven) I'm looking to have a good time. A SERIOUS good time. Don't get me wrong, I take my music very serious. I feel it's an art within itself to turn your biggest source of fun into a business. The funnest times I've had in my life has been with music. There's not alot more to me than that. My forte is singing/performing. I love to rock out in front of a crowd. I get kudos from my family and friends for having the balls to do what I do in front of a crowd. I try to get others into performing because I just can't find a better high than that rush of excitement/anxiety but I always get "I just couldn't do that". The whole concept of not being able to do what I do is sooo foreign to me. IT'S JUST TOO MUCH DAMN FUN! However, I can play other instruments. I've played drums and bass in various other bands plus I'm in a duo right now playing guitar. It's more of a "comedy" sort of act but due to time restrictions from the other half of the duo, we don't have much time to really perform. In all the bands I've been in, I've written 90% or more of all the music and lyrics. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE to collaborate. There are times I have CRAVED to have the music written by others whereas I'd only have to concentrate on my lyrics/melodies and arrangements. Unfortunately, most of the people in most of my bands have been "writing-challenged" for one reason or another. Oh well...what can I do? All in all, I have about four hours worth of recordings where I wrote and played everything and an additional six hours where I wrote either the lyrics/melodies and/or the music. I'm looking to get into a serious band as a vocalist. I've done my time playing other instruments live and I'm just not into it anymore. My heart lies within my vocal box (yeah...it's a weird site)! I have a good amount of recording equipment and what I lack in performance gear, I can buy. I recently got rid of alot of equipment and I'm not looking to get anything new until I get in a band worth buying equipment for. I also know my way around a computer fairly well when it comes to recording, editing and web design. I also know how to put a professional dvd together when it comes to authoring it (making menus you can choose from and etc. that will play in any dvd player). I held a job as a commercial producer at WBBJ-TV for a couple years but got burnt out by the amount of corporate bullshit that came along with the job (if you've lived around these parts for awhile, chances are you've heard my voice. I did a good amount of voice over work for multiple commercials). I'm also outgoing to the degree where I've done the majority of all the booking for the bands I've been in. I'm also the one that ends up designing our cd covers and artwork. I have a degree in audio/video production which is where I learned a good bit of my skills from. Then again, it seems the things I've learned most have come from hard-earned experience. Everything I've done has been building torwards that ultimate band I'm eventually going to form or land in. I don't WANT to have to do everything...but I refuse to be held back by the possibility of not knowing how to do whatever it is that needs to be done. Hmmmmmm...what else? I'm not married and I don't have any kids. I purposely hold different jobs that allow me the freedom to basically come and go as I please. This way, I'm free to rehearse and play out as often as possible. This is how I've lived my life for the past twelve or so years if that tells you anything about my level of committment. So this is me...if my songs and attitude suit what you're doing, throw me a line and we'll meet up for a beer or something!
