Raised in a small town called Oakdale, Louisiana, this is a prime example of what you would call "Raw" or even "True" Talent. Swissa was born in 1978 into a household of real skilled and talented people. At a young age he started out singing in the choir at Shiloh Baptist Church in Oakdale, La., where his mother Pansy Elaine Richard-Sweet was not only the pianoist, but the root to all of his skills and talents. With a house full of talented brothers and sisters, Swissa was influenced by more talents than the average person would be accustomed to, such as sports (basketball & football), drawing, industrial arts & crafts, barbering (cutting hair), singing, producing & composing music, and performing arts, etc.. Being a huge fan of music, Mr. Swissa Sweet was brought up exposed to music genres like Gospel, Hip-Hop, Rap, R & B, Soul, Pop, Jazz, and Blues. But in 1988, he was exposed to a new genre of the music world, Gangsta Rap. His new found love was inspired by N.W.A., Easy E, and Ice Cube which sparked a new era for different rappers all over the United States. At that time Mr. Swissa realized exactly what he wanted to do. In 1990, his sister gave him his first keyboard, a Yamaha PSR 550, and he started doing beats and writing rhymes. In 1991, he touched a lot of his friends & family members with the ability and passion he had for music and started taking him very serious with what he wanted to do, so he and some of his cousins formed The Kin Folk Click. By 1994, the Kin Folk Click was considered a household name around Oakdale, La., which inspired other clicks like the South Side Posse (S.S.P.). With music rooted in his blood, Mr. Swissa's lyric was so called "Ahead of its time", and by 1995, his lyrical ability became phenomenal. He graduated from Oakdale High School in May of 1996, but disaster struck 4 months later when he lost his mother to Cancer. Heart-broken and discouraged, he didn't let up from his music because he felt that his mother wouldn't have wanted that; Although it was her dream too. He took that as a capitol reality check which pushed him towards his goal even more. In December of 1997, he had another reality check, but instead of death, it was life. His first son was born Carlis Antonio Sweet, Jr.. More than another motivation, he was a reason to reach his goals of becoming successful. In 1998, he collaborated with 2 Phace of Bandit Q Records and produced 11 out of 14 tracks on 2 Phace's album, "Such A Playa." Not knowing the business of music, Mr. Swissa Sweet's first actual project with another Recording Artist were left in shambles; an experience he will never forget. So he took upon his self to learn the business of music to prevent future heart aches and pain of his passion. He moved to Houston, Tx. in 2000 in search of the "big break" in his career. There, he collaborated with artists such as Endo, C-Major, From Tha Bottom, Slash, Prime Flo, Dae-Ways, Tradgic, Prime Status, Affiliated Records, and D.A.L. Records. In 2001, Mr. Swissa Sweet and the Kin Folk Click traveled to Dallas, Tx. where they collaborated with Finn Ent. on a compilation album called "Southern Platinum", which contained songs with artists like Big Pokey, E.S.G., members of the S.U.C., Trott and more various artist. He returned back home in 2003, where as he had his second child Markia' Alana, and collaborated with a few artists from his home town such as J.K.G., Doo, Lil' Rich, Nuk, Foofa, and Afterlife Records. Striving to go mainstream, the Kin Folk Click formed the independent label "Wisemen Records" in October of 2005. The label contains artists such as Mr. Swissa Sweet, Mr. Phuzz, Bus aka/Cateye, Mr. Black, Dime, and the Kin Folk Click. They are also affiliated with Grind St. Records of Alexandria, La. whose artist include the upcoming "Dee & Trae". In the eyes of everybody who knows Mr. Swissa, especially people in his home town, Mr. Swissa Sweet is known widely as a "Prodigy" of music.
