UPPDATE ! The recording of Blacksmith´s new album to be named "THE METAL MACHINES" is coming along fine. The band expects to have everything finished sometime during 2009 releasing the title track with the same name first. BLACKSMITH´s "Once upon a star" album is now released wide once again and available for purchase on ALL major internet outlets like iTunes, CD Baby, AMazon, Napster etc.. Other albums will follow after the band finally was released from several bad record contracts as of 2008. The album "Gypsy Queen" was released as well as several maxi singels like "Tomorrows Mystery" today worth lot´s of money after reaching cult status in the hardrock/metal community. Unreleased material from this era includes recorded album "World Victims" as well as a bunch of high quality demo tracks featuring the powerful combination of Guitar-Bas-Organ-Drums and Vocals. Singer Per Englund has been mentioned several times as one of the great lead singers singing the falsetto screaming typ of lead vocals long before the likes of German Helloween and all who later followed. He of course mellowed this down as he developed as a singer.. The band evolved from the having an early Deep Purple sound to having a more modern and rough sound in the likes of Judas Priest and other contemporary bands which soon became apparent. Blacksmith was revived by singer Per Englund and guitar player Bobby Ho in the 1990´s after being offered several new record deals in both Europe and Asia. The album "Once upon a star" was released in most of the world through Massacre records in Europe and JVC-Victor in all of Asia as well as in Sweden on SunDance Records.. The main songwriters and the backbone of the band, Bobby Ho and Per Englund, then continued writing material for the next album which was completed around 2001. This materialized into two seperate albums. One more bluesy and old school hard rock, while the second would be the foundation for the "metal machines". Unfortunately a bunch of circumstances came in the way for a follow up so all the material was archived for later use. After relocating his studio and having left another project band Bobby and Per now have decided that the it is time to pick up the ball again.
