Biography of Kerrie-Anne Phillips (vocalist and composer) Born 4th January 1987 in London, England Kerrie-Anne is a uniquely talented artist who takes great care in presenting you with profound, original, interesting songs to hook you from the first note. Kerrie-Anne's expertise comes along with a 4 octave range and specialism in jazz, gospel, soul and rnb vocal style. Like many singers across genres Kerrie-Anne began singing in the church. At 5 years old she was singing for an audience of up to 1500 and from these events she grew in confidence and vocal maturity ensued. In the following years she toured the UK performing at various venues for a variety of charitable and festive occasions. At the tender age of 15 she wrote and arranged a song entitled 'You Need To Go On' which she entered into the 'Premier Christian Radio Song Search 2002', which aimed to recognize songwriting talent. She enlisted the help of Sam West Productions (London) to produce the track. After many weeks of her song being aired, and continuously voted for by the public as the best song in the contest, Kerrie-Anne was invited to perform her song as a finalist at Westminster Abbey in London. Despite being the youngest contestant in the competition she was voted as the most mature sound and lyrics, which supported her to win the competition. Between 2006 -2008 Kerrie-Anne joined the Ican Foundation Choir. During this time she performed at a variety of high profile events for various dignitaries including former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, former Home Secretary David  Blunkett and UK soul sensation Mica Paris to name a few. In 2007 in honour of South Africa she performed for Nelson Mandela at the South African High Commission in London.  In 2010 Kerrie-Anne relocated to Dubai to pursue a career in international teaching. Upon this move she met and worked with one of Dubai's esteemed house DJs, Frederick Stone. Together they worked on several house and soulful house tracks, which they anticipate to pitch to a number of house music production companies in Europe. During this production work she met band members Danielle Booysen, Shay Olawale and German Cortes. Together they formed Kemestry, who performed jazz, soul, funk and rnb at Sinatras Lounge at the Ibn Battuta Gate Hotel for six nights a week.  In addition to being the lead singer of the band Kerrie-Anne is credited for writing a number of original songs for the band such as Sarah Green, My Baby Don't Love Me and There I Go. After taking a 2 month break in 2011 the band regrouped, now even stronger, to play at the For The Love of Music concert series hosted at the Music Room, Majestic Hotel, Bur Dubai. This event sparked profound public interest for Kemestry and has earned them recognition as 'Dubai's most versatile band'.
