THE GAME BROTHA$ Carmelo Lopez AKA "Mista Wonderful” and Halik Stewart AKA “Ric Flare” grew up in Oakland, CA where they met in high school. Carmelo studied sound engineering and music while Halik continued his success as a professional tennis player. They hooked up again in college and started making music where they joined forces as the Game Brothas. Their sound is a hard hitting and lyric driven experience that takes you on a ride of the Bay Area street life and night scene. They have made music with an original sound and have gained street recognition and credit in the Oakland/Bay Area region. The Game Brothas have made major accomplishments where they have made 2 commercials for Clear Channel on 106 KMEL for Richmond’s Hilltop Mall in 2003 and 2004 where they were nominated for an IMPACT award, a major accomplishment in the commercial industry. Game Brothas released 2 albums that were sold out the trunk throughout the west coast. The single “Zippin” has been experiencing rotation on 106 KMEL-FM. Right now the beat to there current single “Top $helf” has been playing on air on KMEL for almost a year for advertisements and a background beat while the DJ’s are promoting. It already has an excellent response from listeners because they have heard it and want more. Their debut Hustlemania/Sumo/Frisco Street show release “Hyperspeed” album is scheduled for a summer 2007 release through Street Show Presents. They have had recent shows with DJ Quik, Kat Williams, The Pack, Yung Joc, Andre Nickatina, The Team, Ozomatli, Bilal, Jaguar and Mistah Fab. Hooking up with DJ Mucho from the Heavyweights crew in Los Angeles, the GB’s have the hustle and goals to take this venture to the next level with more upcoming shows to add to the roster. Together, we have brought a new sound to the table in Bay Area music scene with additional personalities to add to the group’s creativity. Our goals in the music industry are to show that Oakland has more to offer and to start a label in our region. We are looking to get signed with a major record label and with the right financial resources our work in the studio has the potential to make millions.
