Jen Lightfoot is a singer-songwriter whose music is a blend of angst-ridden acoustic rock and pretty, lilting folk music. Her lyrics are always personal, sometimes political, and have touched upon subjects such as sexuality, suicide, love, spousal abuse, and religion. Fans have compared Jen to traditional folkie Joan Baez, alternative folk-rocker Ani DiFranco, and quirky soprano Tori Amos. She has performed at numerous cafes and coffee houses including Doc Watson's Pub (Philadelphia, Pa), the Hillside Cafe (Nutley, NJ), Lunastage (Montclair, NJ), and Sanctuary Cafe (Little Falls, NJ). She has also co-organized, promoted, and performed at 3 different benefit concerts and performed at numerous open-mic night events.
