Même qu'il chantait bien...Le groupe Teddy Bear vient de se dissoudre et Gilles, l'excellent guitariste du groupe défunt a rencontré Aimé, contrebassiste de génie. Il leur manque un chanteur, Dom accepte et voici les HillBilly Cats! Avec Bob, le batteur fou de l'équipe, ils vont faire un carton!! A peine démarré, direction les studios parisiens où ils enregistrent un 45T 4 titres chez Savas Records, suivi de la télévision dans l'excellente émission Rocking Chair et le tour est joué, les cats vont vendre un millier de disques, se retrouveront en concert dans tous les endroits branchés fifties et cartonnent tout sur leur passage! Quant Dom est appelé sous les drapeaux, le groupe se met en standby, puis redémarre avec un nouveau contrebassiste et un nouveau batteur: consécration! Puis, la vie étant, les Hillbilly Cats stoppent leur élan dans la confusion. Un groupe est mort, mais chacun part de son côté et l'experience apportée à chacun par ce groupe prouvera par la suite que ce ne fut pas vain, car on entend encore parfois "ah oui, les hillbilly cats...j'me souviens...ça c'était du rock'n'roll...!!" TENNESSEE RUMBLERS 1993-2000 Ce groupe Hillbilly Country fut un des groupes français les plus en vue de la fin du millénaire! Inspiré par les Rose Maddox and Brothers, Johnny Horton et de la musique post rock'n'roll des early fifties, ce groupe n'a véritablement décollé qu'à partir de 1996. Dans un premier temps très Rockabilly, de 92 à 95, la couleur électrique du groupe due à Jérôme le batteur Caennais et à Didier le guitariste lead se promène de petits concerts en petites scènes. Le succès est au rendez vous, mais sans réelle originalité. Cette fin des nineties est peuplée de très nombreux groupes néorockabilly et les Rumblers ne sont qu'un de plus...rien de plus... Le groupe prendra l'orientation qui a fait son succès grace à Nicole, batteuse de charme à la frappe très simpliste mais très aérée, et surtout à Gary, guitariste génial qui a su, avec ses riffs légers mais bien présents appuyer le style Hillbilly fifties par un son vintage sans comparaison. Le ton est donné : chapeau pour tout le monde et reprises géniales que vous pouvez encore trouver sur l'album "Rolli' & Ridin'". Il vous suffit de surfer sur le net, vous devriez trouver! De l'Est à l'Ouest, du Nord au Sud, ces cowboys délirants ont parcouru des milliers de kilomètres pour se produire, et quant la décision d'arrêter fut prise en 2000, le public en redemandait encore!! Après les avoir vus à Mirande, au Zénith, à la télévision, ce groupe est maintenant un souvenir, un collector, mais tout ceux qui les ont vu une fois en concert s'en souviennent! Et c'est maintenant en solo, que Dom assure sa carrière. Seul sur scène, ce sont 2h de concert "unplugged", d'un répertoire tout droit sorti des bars Honky Tonk de Nashville. Très inspiré par 'son maitre a penser' Dwight Yoakam, dont il adapte une bonne partie de son répertoire, il se lance dans la composition de titre en Francais, sans pour autant devier, de ses inspirations Nord Américaines. Il sera bientot possible de l'entendre dans une formation électrique, plus rock & roll, courant 2007... Le single "A Toi", est déja disponible... His biography HILLBILLY CATS 1986-1991 Dom is only 16 yars old when someone came to pick him up. It has been heard that he sang. It seems he sang very well... The Teddy Bear Band just dissolved, and Gilles, the excellent lead guitarist of the defunt band just met Aimé, genius double-bass player. They need a singer. Dom accepts, and here comes The Hillbilly Cats! With Bob, their crazy drummer, they'll burn the stages!! Just started, up at the studios, in Paris, where they record a EP (vinyl 4 titles) at Savas Records, and following a TV Show (Rocking Chair). The dices are shot, the Cats will play at any famous "fifties" concerts, and burn all the places everywhere they rock! When Dom is called in the army, the bands is turned off, and starts up once again with a new doublebass player and a new drummer: consacration! But, life goes on... The Hillbilly Cats stop their moose in a confusion. A band is dead, but everybody leave in their way, and the experience given by this band will prouve at those musicians that all this wasn't in vain... 'Cause we can hear sometimes "ah yeah, Hillbily Cats..i remember...that was real rock'n'roll...!!" TENNESSEE RUMBLERS 1993-2000 This Hillbilly Country band has been one of the most famous french bands in this end of century! Inspired by Rose Maddox and Brothers, Johnny Horton and the early fifties post rock'n'roll music, this band really took off about 1996. Very rockabilly in a first time (92/95), the electric colour was given by Didier end Jerome (resp.guitar and drums), and walk by little concerts and stages without a real originality. This end of the 90's is plenty of neorockabily little bands, and the Rumblers are only one of them... nothing more... The band will successfully take his orientation with the help of Nicole, charming drummer, and Gary, genius guitarist. They both knew bring the "hillbilly" sound, with a simple beat a light guitar riffs. the band gives the key: Cowboy-hat for everybody and real nice covers! You can find their album "Rollin and Ridin" (TR001) if you surf on the net. From east to the west, from norh to the south, those delirious cowboys will ride thousand miles to play. And when they decided to stop their run in the mid-2000, the public wanted more shows!! After records, TV shows, big stages, this band is now a souvenir, a colector, but everyone that saw them in concert remember... It's now solo that Dom gets his career. Alone on stage, it's 2 hours unplugged live, with music directly picked from the Nashville's Honkytonks. Realy inspired by his "master" Dwight Yoakam, he decides now to compose and write his own songs. Sang in French, but relly american by the music and arrangements. It will soon be possible to hear him with a brand new electric band, most rock'n'roll in 2007... His new single "A TOI" is now available.
