Point Blank is a band of musicians with diverse talents and creativity. Although we have a wide variety of influences among us, we have placed our greatest song-writing emphasis upon originality and innovation--pushing the envelope and taking the art of contemporary music to places never gone before. The resulting blend of our creative energies and inspiration could possibly be described as a combination of the emotions of Hard Rock, the energy of Heavy Metal, and the rhythmic beats and vocals of Hip-Hop. While that might do for an explanation as to what Point Blank is, we say why bother with all that? We are really all of those things and none of those things. We are 3DK a whole new genre all its own. Sty Malone’s vocals and guitars dominate the five piece. Driving and punchy riffs are combined with a powerful voice able to either sing or rap with the same ease. Kryos brings full flavor to the band with an aggressive rap style. Mighty Mouse absolutely pounds the drums, assaulting the senses with a symphony of beats. His vocals erupt from angelic hymns to demonic screams. Zeus’s amazing diversity of guitar disciplines coupled with an emphasis on precision, and intensity, allowing him to cross fluidly between blues, metal, and neoclassical leads. Filter, our imported European brother, whose tastes run from Ska to Punk, brings on the funky bass, alternating between aggressive and passive notes with unbreakable confidence and groove. Since May 12, 2002 Point Blank has been waving the 3DK banner and reaching people of all ages. The response to our music has been extremely positive and encouraging as we work towards our continuing goal of reaching everyone with a new breed of rock. Our first performance was at the Miami Hard Rock Café, opening for the popular hip-hop band Mobb Deep. The mixed crowd enjoyed our show enough to have us return several times. Soon we became a regular act at the world famous Churchill¹s Pub, and also played at the Sandbar, Fat Cat, and Tavern 213. In 2003 we took the South Florida Battle of the Bands title by storm. We held our first CD release party at the 2004 Spring Break celebration in Ft. Lauderdale and Hollywood, where college students from across the nation were exposed to and hooked on 3DK, and then returned home jamming to Point Blank. Point Blank relocated to Tallahassee, Florida in May of 2004. Since then we have not only continued to refine and perfect our art, but we have once again turned the local and regional scene upside down, just as we did elsewhere. From the beginning, we have regularly been headlining shows all over the area, including The Beta Bar, Bullwinkles, Potbellys, and more. Our music has been requested and played at 101.5 and Gulf 104. Gulf 104 has been a great supporter of our music, and on regular basis we are guest on the Homegrown Locals & Region show. Our fans request gave us the “Number One requested song” for three months. In the last couple of months our album and some of our live tracks have been playing in major cities in Florida and Georgia, part of the rotation in Iraq, and scattered across the United States. Following up the success of the Verbal Assault album. Domestic Records and Full Sail Academy recorded new tracks for our up coming album "Evolution". With a fresh new sound and lyrical experience as known other, this promises to be one of our best albums to date. Evolution is scheduled to be released in April 30 2007. Our aspirations are to play to thousands, spreading an entirely different brew of lyrics and music. Point Blank has had the honor of sharing the stage with Mobb Deep, Dead Presidents, Pepper, New Found Glory, New Address, Pyschostick, Skindred, Solace For Free, Shattermask, Suicide City, and SoulFly.
