Bio
Morale: South African Hip Hop One of the hottest emcees ever to hit the streets of Joburg, Morale is bringing it to your doorsteps like welcome mats. Born in Soweto, Meadowlands 1982 this hustler sees no boundaries when it comes to street savvy, lyrical content and blazing up true head nodders for the streets. Nkosana lounged with the maestro to see what he is cooking up in the lab. Nkosana: How was it for you growing up? Morale: Growing up during apartheid was no fun as you well know , but in the midst of all the poverty and hardship I managed to find some joy in family and friends. Nkosana: From your lyrics there’s no question that your upbringing has molded you as an artist. Would you agree? Morale: No doubt. I think it played a part in how I write and conduct myself as an artist, it basically keeps me on my toes because you know what they say about writing from personal experiences. Nkosana: When did you decide to get on the mic? Morale: It all started 1994. I was in a clique called Zodiac Sunz and later moved on to a crew called Mosomi. The different cliques and exposures helped me develop my rapping skills. I now produce and rap. I’ve worked with G Maggz , Prokid, Dome, Sean Page and many more. I've also made appearances on the domestic violence mixtape (volume 1 & 2), Glitterati, Sha Shaker, Young Nation mix tape and 985. The list goes on, you know... Nkosana: Sure. So, since the people would like to know what's really good with Morale, what would you say are your strongest attributes? Morale: Simply put, I would say my strongest points are that my creative and business mind work in tandem. Nkosana: What are your highlights so far? Morale: My track Best Endz was number one for the longest period on Metro FM’s Rhyme and Reason , hosted by Touch. Nkosana: Your track Polygamy is getting mad buzz on the streets thanks to the The Essence, hosted by Kanza on 5fm, how do you feel about that? Morale: I am loving it… Nkosana: Finally How would you describe Morale? Morale: I am not really a battle MC; I’ am more about the swag and industry defining aspects of things. I won’t lie I am driven by profit. I represent the hustler's culture, the grinding you know, my story is basically one from rubles to glory. Nkosana: Thank you taking time out to chill with Amakipkip.com. You are definitely a force to reckon with amongst your peers, perhaps even the voice of your generation. Good luck with all future plans and stay true to the hustle. Morale: Thank you my man , and a friendly reminder to the readers to catch my mixtape, The rising sun available soon on Amakipkip.com.
