Hello people out there in musicland. My name is Mary Omega Phipps, but I am known as SeMarice a.k.a Yung Donness in my career. I am from Kenosha WI. I am 20 years old, and I am a highschool graduate. I knew I was meant for music when I learned back in the early 50's or 60's the family isn't sure that my grandmother had a recording contract. But she gave it up to raise her children. I am thankful for that because later on my mother was born. Moving right along. I am a solo artist. I have been writing songs since I was about 6. My first song was called, "Wonderin' Why?" It was then that I knew that I had the ability to take my emotions and feelings and put them into poems, lyrics and songs. I have been singing my mother says since I uttered my first couple of words. She says that I always hummed around the house when I was like 4 years old. She also said that my first word was song(NO LIE!)When I found out about that I was ecstatic. I sang in my choir in junior highschool and also our black history month school choir called the, "Heritage Choir". Then was when I got my first taste of stage presence and learned not to fear it. This might seem strange to peoples but a room with like 2 or 3 people frighten me. But I have never feared a huge crowd. I feel like with all that attention on me that I have the world in the palm of my hands. I feel a sense of relief that people come to see me that I am truely blessed and I know that I should never fear a blessing for it might be taken away from me. Also I just wanna let all the people out there (you know who you are)know that no matter what you say about me or to me that I will always go on as an artist and I will always use your hating as a lift in my confidence. I know that I am beautiful and I have the talent to make it in the game. No matter how long it takes, I will get there. P.S. to all the haters, much love and I hope you get over your jealousy.
