Twenty year old, Chinye’ Tavie’, has the lyrical skills of a veteran performer and voice reminisce of the multi-platinum artist Lil’ Kim, but with the around the way (girl) persona. Her first CD, “Ahead of the Game”, relates to her experience as a girl on the cusp of womanhood, navigating the after turbulent water of adolescence. As the daughter of a music producer and also one of the members of the legendary group “Lakeside”, Chinye’ was exposed to the music industry at a young age. With the strong desire to perform and inspired by the likes of 2 Pac, Snoop Dogg and Da Brat, Chinye’ easily gravitated toward the sounds of Rap and Hip Hop. While in high school Chinye’ began to showcase her natural talent for writing lyrics, and by adding dance and drama to her craft, this eighteen year old raptress has already proven that she is gifted with undeniable talent. Undoubtedly a product of her environment, Chinye’ was born in Los Angeles and was raised knowing the importance of education, strong moral values and the significance of staying spiritually grounded.
