IAYAALIS KALI-MA If ever you are fortunate enough to find your senses enthralled by the smooth sultry voice and enlightened lyrical flow of a seriously down sister, you, no doubt, shall realize that it is none other than: IAYAALIS . No other artist can express so remarkably the essence of Black intellect and spirit quite like "the mad mutha eloh " whose acronymic name, i.a.y.a.a.l.is (pronounced: "i-yall-EE") - I Am You Are And Love IS - suggests her universal purpose to dazzle the dome and send the soul. IAYAALIS has received praise from audiences of all music and art genres and continues to be a topic of media interest. Both local and national publications have featured her work. The independent multi-talent IAYAALIS has worked professionally, particularly in the Nashville music industry, for over ten years, creating a musical style that merges "sensual physicality with deep spiritual insights and a distinctly feminine point of view", as Michael McCall of The Nashville Scene quoted in 1997. Her unique style of Hip-Hop and music entertainment has awarded her the 1998 Nashville Music Awards nomination of Best Unsigned Artist as well as opportunities to perform in several music conferences, including the JIVE, BMI, and NEA showcases. Moreover, IAYAALIS ' visual art has been displayed at prominent exhibitions at Cheekwood Museum, Watkins Institute, and The International Airport of Nashville. IAYAALIS ' creative mission is to create a live sound intrinsic to her natural way of being and to exhibit art reflective of her depth. Her message is one in support of art culture and unity. Currently IAYAALIS is involved in several new independent projects, including the underground album release: "Love IS...!" IAYAALIS is prepared to etch a permanent mark for herself and her art without compromising her artistic approach and spiritual ideals, and she has always searched for ways to do this independently. As quoted in The Nashville Scene, IAYAALIS is not "...looking for that one person to exploit us, we have been trying to find ways to do it for ourselves. What's happening here is so fresh and new... I'm telling you, when somebody finally taps into that, it's going to break wide open." * For more on IAYAALIS check out: www.myspace.com/iayaalis
