Bio
Anything But Reason Est. 1997 Small Town Boys Make Big Noise. Anything But Reason are anything but average. ABR's mountain rock sound is truly refreshing. Contrasting mainstream pop music's facade of rock 'n' roll, ABR doesn't try to fool you with a heartthrob singer and meaningless, manufactured songs. They don't have a "look" or a specific style. What they do have is good old-fashioned rock tunes, with catchy riffs and inspiring lyrics. And what they lack is pretension. Comprised of four members, ABR has been making their own brand of original music since 1997. With only one band member change since the late 90's, ABR has been steadfast in their offerings of new rock to their small but loyal legion of fans, most of which hail from the Eastern Townships where the band originated. With all of ABR's members being in their late 20's and 30's, the boys were raised in the country on genuine rock 'n' roll, when music was a little more sincere and you didn't have to go underground to find it. They won't deceive you with superfluous garb or gimmicks because their songs are infectious and actually have substance. They will definitely captivate you with a likable front man, Joe Lambert. Aside from the voice of ABR, the other members are guitarist Ryan Clarkson, bassist Derek Charby, and drummer Paul Giddings. They came together sharing a passion for music in a small town where they crafted their own band and their own sound. ABR started out playing bars, hotels and community centres in the Knowlton area, like the infamous Thirsty Boot and the Knowlton Pub where they soon became local favourites. With support of bar owners in the region, as well as the expertise of a sound technician friend, John Cameron, ABR quickly went on to record their own tracks and expand their fan base. The band's first recording was 1999's Anything But Reason, a self-titled album received by fans at a special CD release party at The Thirsty Boot. Other recordings include the 2003 "Ribs at Midnight and "The Camp" in 2004. Recently, Anything But Reason has been back in the studio working to release more music for their fans to enjoy.
