ZOidiva : Zoi means life in old Greek and the name Zoidiva means the diva of life for her..Based in Europe ( istanbul), this gorgeous singer's first single "Who I am" blends Pop, Rock and Electronica, her three favorite styles of music, into her own unique style- modern Euro with a hint of '80's rock and pop. "As a child, I grew up listening to Roxette, Cranberries, Pink Floyd, Paula cole,Aerosmith, Bon Jovi,Whitney Houston,Mariah Carey,Madonna and almost everything in between!!" What distinguishes her from many other singers is she s working in two unrelated sectors at the same time , she has an Economics B.A. degree and working in a finance company on the international basis and at nights she becomes the diva , asides her full time for her music and her artist management :) a true indie !!More interesting fact is Zoidiva 's never actually met her producers on her new EP! - she and Tony (at SonicBoy) worked via the internet (he's based in Melbourne, Australia) they met on MySpace late 2006. "It's something I've been doing for sometime now, working with musicians and producers around the world, including Snr Paul in Spain, who made the remix of 'who I am' also". While many of her collaborations have lent more toward electronica, the tracks 'who I am' and 'White' are definitely more pop/rock. The first musician who discovered her via internet( in 2000) was a mexican private guitar teacher ( Jose BArbosa) , with him she started writing her own songs which was rare those times to make songs via internet She started her first online pop rock band with him called 'heartmasterz' aiming the music from the heart .. discovered the harmonical powers in her sweet sound of voice while creating her own stuff, after a while she entered 'Academy Turkey' (similar to American Idol) and among 16,000 applicants, made top 50! - no surprise!. Then in the final was faced with restrictions- "I wanted to sing a song in english but wasn't allowed, and as I wasn't comfortable singing a turkish song, I was dismissed". Exiting a show like this wasn't going to stop her... She joined couple of bands as a solist and gigs but she couldnt catch the frequency she desired , as a result she found her own producers worldwide to work with.. In her teens she took private vocal lessons from an opera teachher and others, but the last few years, she has concentrated on her songwriting and recording. "To me, it's the most important thing". "I already have a lot of friends and fans around the world who gives me the encourage to go on , and I just want to keep creating great songs for them"...My aim is to make music from the heart till the end , if even one person millions of miles away s listening to my arts and appreciates it : that means the world to me. What s important is to be the true musician rather than a balloon superstar. Zoidiva's first release i available on iTunes ,mtraks ( her new EP amazingly entered top 5 and she became the top 2 artist in week- August 06,one of her tracks 'White' already catched the attention of indie music promoters in USA and found a place in the october cd sampler of bandpromoters.com which is a L.A. company and selecting best indie musicians. One of her laters accomplishmet is she wrote and sang the song called 'Joy' for an ADV for a well-known turkish men clothing brand called Damat- Tween , which will be out for a local fashion tv channel soon.
