[color="orang*ricAngus Hello my name is *ricAngus ric "no k ok..." I first became obsessed with the guitar when i was 14 yrs, after putting down the violin with 4 years of lessons. I currently appear to be living a preverbial Waylon Jennings statement," I got my first guitar when I was 14 now I'm crowding 50 and still wearing jeans". I learned early I was given a gift to play by ear so I did and I still do. Being a singer/songwriter has been a journey of the mind and heart for me and it continues on, so many things to write and relay. "Music Is The WISDOM Of The World," all of it. First break to the stage at 16 years old, Leon Grissom the Silver Hair Gentleman who nearly recorded with Sam Phillips, Elvis ring a bell ? I was in and out of bands mostly as a singer in Wisconsin thru the early years, only dabbling with the guitar here and there. Then returned back to the home town of New Martinsville, West by God Virginia for the first time in 21 years. It was then that I got serious about what I was doing and why I was doing it. I met a fellow, Merton Stickler who became a good friend and the other part of the After Hours Band and we played the home town local scene. Then one day Merton was taken away from me by a bad car accident as a passenger. He was a good man and I miss him, much LOVE brother. He always said he felt like he was not going to be there. I would remind him constantly that he would be, so Bubby, still workin' on it bro. I put the music on hold for a couple years to grieve and went thru alot of feelings and questions and then acceptance, and then penned "Time Never Taught Me About Saying Good Bye" . Moving on I went back to Wisconsin got remarried and became a work- aholic and a learning husband, the music spuradic. That relationship lasted 15 years. My Mom was always trying to get me to enter contest's never was much of the one to be competing with what I was creating from my heart to be put on a chopping block ,I guess. But I did enter one for Mom and went to Nashville, Tennesee performed live on National TV. Ended up being third place out of 8700 contestants missed first place and a recording contract by 50 votes. I was propositioned by Robert Metzger who wanted to work together but I did not think of being a big star was in my plans, so I went back home to work and pay bill's the real way, I eventualy found out Robert Metzger promotes Alan Jackson ooops. So back home I go returning to working and the company goes out of buissness. A couple months go by while searching for a job and Steven K Brown, Robert Metzgar's affiliate calls to work a deal with an investor. Now with no work and no money I went back to work on another job and put the dream down. After being divorced I moved further north and did alot of fishing and being at one with nature, so far away from people, alone .It was and remains to me some very peaceful memmories. Then in 2003 I relocated to Fort Myers, Florida promoted alot of bands, 4 of the bands landed label deals, one band I lived with would have made it but they broke up for whatever reason. Great bands dont get put together, I feel they come together I know this for the two bands I tried to put together. This breakup happened just after being given a recording made by courtesy of Adema / Korn studios in Bakesfield, California. When they broke up I decided to promote *ricAngus something I had yet to do for myself ,seriously. I continued to play about town for just about anything and met Justin Alderman,of Armitage recording, Justin has been there thick and thin, mad mad bro. Then one day a call from a friend, Shelly Sutherland with a invitation for a cup of coffee and meet, Mitch Reese. Another singer/songwriter who she thought would make a great team. Mitch and I met at a party one time previous but there was not much energy that day as we traded a guitar to share our wares. But the second meeting produced a goose bump effect for both of us from playing just one song that carries with us to this day, I always told the bands I promoted, goosebumps are one thing that dont lie. We performed on August 22 nd for big D of WWOZ 90.7 fm. radio New Orleans , for the promotion of the video remake. Special thanks to and for Mike Otero of Info Tv. MITCH REESE How I arrived at the cross roads… I have been playing music since I was a young child, I could play Braham’s Lullaby before I could spell it. My older Brother and Sister were taking piano lessons at the time and I picked it up by ear. My next memory of my musical journey is my first real experience with a guitar. For my Brother Jeff’s birthday, my parents were giving him a guitar. I knew of their secret, but could not hold my tongue and spilled the beans. Needless to say, I was reprimanded in the Old School tradition. And I am still in love with Guitars. Many roads have been traveled since then. After high school, a stint in the Air Force. Always continuing to hone my musical skills along the way. In 1985 I relocated from the “Region” to sunny ,hurricane laden Panama City, Florida. Played in a few different bands until 2000, I formed the 6 piece band, Byg Byrd (that’s me )and the Weena Hounds. We toured and did some openings for the Majors. I really got to apply my trade during the years we were together. After that I went south, and I returned to the Region to complete the CD I had been working on along the way at, The Spot Studios. This was accomplished with the help of people like Mike Summer’s, of Chicago’s 105.5 WLJE’ s FM voting me, Local Artist of the Year and Tim Shelburg of the Midwest Beat Magazine, I have received a good share of continued success with my CD. I rode that horse back to Florida, ,moved around within the state and landed in Fort Myers where I met *ric Angus, my musical brother and friend. We played a few times together and fell in musical love. Now we are in Sin City, BABY !, working on a new musical product that in it’s ruff stages has been getting good reviews from fans and critics alike. We are nurturing a pet project, ”Believe In New Orleans”. A tribute and a helping hand to the PEOPLE of this stricken city and surrounding parishes. We were invited by Big “D” of 90.7 WWOZ FM in New Orleans to participate in a radio series, August 22rd. . a live interview with radio play to help bring renewed awareness for all within radio shot of New Orleans WWOZ.org .We had a great time. The Video and CD will be further promoted with Azuza productions Noel Prim, former president of Grrr records of Chicago, Illinois. e"][/color]
