Bio
It began with the creative mind of David Pickerign. Growing up with the sounds of Nirvana, Metallica and Goo Goo Dolls he formed a Garage Grunge band with Travis Waschek, bassist, and Shawn Dosen, drummer. The band Aurom was created in 2002 and consisted of hard hitting Nirvana styled playing. After a fall out with the drummer the band split up. Meanwhile Josh Nickleby and Phillip Williams began to jam together and hoped to form a band. 2003 dawned the meeting of Dave and Josh when Dave substituted for a bassist in Josh's other band. It wasn't until 2004 that they started to hang out more and play, discussing the idea of a band. Joe McArdell, a friend of both, decided to play bass for the two and thus beginning of Emergence Entombed. Feeling that their music lacked something they accepted Phil into their band as a Lead Guitarist. They started practicing with little equipment and alot of ideas. Many of the songs were ex-Aurom songs that they adapted to their own. Some of these songs are Whatever You Say, Inebriated, Tomorrow, BASSment Song and Figures. The first song they wrote together was Fabrication, which was compiled by Josh's Intro and grew into the full song. This new song fueled the fire for their inspiration, new songs unfolded such as Dishonorable Discharge, Colored Me and their hit Act II. Just as they were getting things rolling Joe quit the band to join the Army. EE was on hold as they looked for a bassist. The search was futile and there was almost no hope, until they turned to Travis for help. Seeing how Dave and Travis were in a previous band the chemistry worked and he was able to add his own style to the music. They began playing more local shows and began perfecting their style. The Heavy guitar, with bluesy solos and punk bass created a new vibe that was felt through the fans. In May of 2005 Emergence Entombed decided to record a 7 song CD through Tim Andrews of Bimanic Studios. Excited to get their songs on to CD they went and recorded a 7 song demo called Death Before Dishonor. It was comprised of Fabrication, Act II, Dishonorable Discharge, Inebriated, Colored Me, Whatever You Say, and an acoustic number called Cold November Days. The CD blended alot of original ideas of the band and paved the way to new beginnings. EE played alot of local Chisago area shows until summer of 2006. During that summer Travis moved to Arizona to go to school, leaving EE with no bassist again. But just as luck has it a new man was found. Josh was working at a bar and grill in Scandia when a new employee came in. Evan Nelson listened to the CD and excepted the offer to come try out. He was ironically a bassist and going to the same college as Josh the next school year. Evan blew the rest of the band members away with his skill and thus he became the new member of Emergence Entombed. Then in September or 2006 they were introduced to Cole Young of Tru Talent Managment. They played their first city show at the Red Sea and signed on with Cole for a 6 month contract. They have been writing alot of songs and have been been performing them in many venues such as the Rock, Station 4, The Garage, Club Underground, and many others. Then in February they went back to Tim Andrews to record 7 more songs. The CD is almost done and with consist of the 7 original and the 7 new to make a 14 song CD that is Self Titled. The 7 new songs are Choke, Tomorrow, BASSment Song, Turns Into You, Fiend, Break Into Night and My Decline. They have many great shows lined up and the CD should be out very soon, so keep updated and come check them out.
