[color="green"]A native of Hong Kong, Yin Tak Au was mainly self-taught as a youth until when she went to the United States in fall of 2001. She first went to County College of Morris in New Jersey where she began her first private saxophone lessons with Kent H. Eanes. She studied with him until he passed away in October 2003. In fall of 2004, she transferred to George Mason University and had studied under the direction of Dale Underwood until she gained her bachelor degree in music performance in May 2007. Yin Tak was a member in the Hong Kong Youth Symphonic Band. She was selected to Music Camp held by the Hong Kong Music Office in the year 2001, 2004, and 2005, in which she served as principal saxophonist; and she was also the principal saxophonist in The Hong Kong International Band Festival 2006 Youth Wind Orchestra.. While she was in the US, she served as the principal saxophonist in County College of Morris’ Wind Band, and George Mason University’s Symphonic Band from 2004 to 2006. During her study at George Mason University, she had served as bass saxophonist, baritone saxophonist, and alto saxophonist for the GMU Saxophone Ensemble and GMU Saxophone Quartets. Yin Tak has performed solos with Clementi Secondary School’s orchestra and band in Hong Kong; she has also appeared as soloist with County College of Morris Wind Band in 2004, and performed Heath’s Out of the Cool with Mclean Youth Orchestra as a guest soloist in 2007. Yin Tak has performed in master classes with Kenneth Tse and Steven Mauk. She is now teaching actively in Hong Kong and serves as an assistant in administration for the Klappen Ensemble.[/color]
