Bio
(Intro) Akron, Ohio the city that people say is overlooked, but yet has the hottest talent the mid-west region has to offer. Akron, the city known for drugs, murders, and poverty. The same city that the 19 year old self pro-claimed "Rap Antidote" Jay Hundred calls home. (In The Beginning) Born Justin Marquise Boyd, on October 24, 1987; in a correctional facility in Marysville, Ohio; Started this young man's life in the wrong way. And as Justin (Jay Hundred) grew older, he experienced a lot of activities that's a child, should not have to witness, from his mother's extensive drug habit to seeing a man being shot and killed right in from of him. Justin realized that he didn't have the size or build to become a basket ball star and had no dreams to become a football player, so he made up in his mind that music would be his only way to get away from all the wrong things his city had to offer him. At the tender age of 10, Justin had took a strong liking to what then was then "Tupac Era". He felt like Tupac was a big brother to him, and he actually understood what was going on in his life. As their bios share some similarities. At Justin's elementary school, he took part in the May festival program, which showcases the best singers from each elementary school. Also Justin found time to take part in some of the city's talent shows and play violin in his school's orchestra. (The Teen Years/ High School) Entering junior high school, Justin became fond of brass instruments and decided to begin playing the trumpet. At the age of 14, Justin decided it was time to make something happen with his life, so he called on his neighborhood friends TJ and Marcus to help him launch his first rap group called "AK-30". Recording music from a stereo with the beats blasting to a small 1986 tape recorder/ microphone deck, Justin and TJ, would always take their newest songs to the local music store and have them play it over their pa system. They made music consistently, even missing days of school to make their dream come true. When things took a turn for the worse, as Justin and his mother was evicted from there home with no place to go. Justin's mother made a motel her home, and Justin was tolled to stay with his aunt and uncle, until his mother was able to get on her feet again. The music dream was placed on hold for the drug selling and car boosting that Justin chose to do to help his family out of the situation they were in. This went on for about 3 months and Justin decided he could not and will not keeping making the same mistakes over and over again, so Justin ran back to the music. He began recording his first solo mixtape in his cousin's basement, with a computer mic and a copy and paste program. He began pressing up copies of the rushed mixtape, in plastic wrap and gift wrapping tape. Dedicated to the music in his heart, he handed out his mixtape for 5 weeks straight before school, during lunch and after school. People caught on quick, to the catchy choruses and swift metaphors that Jay Hundred uses and he became the new buzz around the Akron Public School System. Justin finally moved back with his mother, which resulted in him changing schools and starting life fresh, which he had longed for. A couple days at his new school Justin found a childhood he grew up with also was a rapper, So they decided to team up and officially take the city over musically. The next day Justin purchased all of the equipment needed to make a bedroom studio and began working with his best friend "Montrell" on a new style of music, they have founded, which is call "The New Uptown Swagger Music" and also begin working his second and third mixtape, which sold 700 copies in the city. Justin was approached by a few classmates about joining a rap group and engineering for them. Justin thought it was a great idea and he began working with the young but talented local group. After about a year with the group, Justin decided it was a good time for him to branch off and once again start working on his solo project. And in the process of recording his first solo album, Justin created a small independent entertainment company (Bag It Up Entertainment), which featured some of the hottest talent in Akron from MCs to models, from producers, to DJs. All taking part in the release of Jay Hundred's first solo album with the perfectly fitting title "Against All Odds". Justin pressed up, packaged, sold and handed out 1, 200 copies of his album, throughout the state of Ohio. Which declared him as a official force in the state's music industry. People took notice to the young rapper and gave him a chance to shine with radio play and performances all over the city and state. (The Man Before You) Through everything that I have been through in my life so far, has made me the man and the musician, I am today. I have been through the pain and tears, now it's time to move forward and receive my blessings. And I feel this music is my true blessing, if I didn't have music, I would probably be locked up or dead. I am very confident in my talent but I am still a very humble person. And regardless of what the lord has in store for me, I will never for get where I came from and how I fought to get where I am. Again my name is Justin Marquise Boyd (Jay Hundred)..."The Prince of the City"..."The New School Legend"...whatever you would like to call me. But, in do time, I want the world to call me the best.
