My name is Duke Sweet and yes that's my real name, I have the birth certificate to prove it. I am a Musician, OTR Truck Driver and Owner of Sweet Records. I enjoy playing music in my free time and with friends. I started singing on stage when I was 6 years old, occationally singing with Ralph Stanley as well as with some other local Bluegrass Musicians and began playing Bluegrass when I was 13. At age 14 I started playing with The Madison County Boys out of Anderson,IN and at age 15 with Killin' Tyme out Cambridge City,IN. At the age of 16, I quit school (later getting my GED) and went on the road with my own band Duke Sweet and Sweetgrass playing at various places and festivals across the United States. It was also that year that I released my first album 'Thank God For Momma'. At the age of 18, I decided to part ways with my band members in Duke Sweet and Sweetgrass and began playing with Clearwater Crossing from Peru,IN and with Jolena Foster from Lebanon,TN for a short time. After playing with her I went back to playing with a local group, The Wes Miller Band out of Connersville,IN. In the mean time while playing with these bands I started putting together my own record company Sweet Records. Under that label I have released 3 Bluegrass Albums: Solo with No Place To Go, I Didn't Know I was Losing You and Black and White. I have also released the Rock Albums: Here We Come, At Worlds End, Duke Sweet Volumes I and II and Split 3 Ways. I am currently about to release my first Country Album - Here I Am. All Albums have been and are sold in limited quanities and for only a certain amount of time. I currently play Country and Rock Music. The songs currently on here were all written by me with the exception of Perfume, Powder and Lead. All work on the songs are totally me from writing to singing, playing and doing all recording work. Misty is responsible for the day to day stuff on the site: Keeping track of plays, making sure songs are playing properly and design of the site itself. Any status updates are posted by Duke unless permission is given to Misty at that time to update a status.
