About John Goudge Band [i]John Goudge Band [/i]is a group of experienced & talented musicians led by West Auckland singer/songwriter & performer John Goudge. The group was adjudged “the most outstanding band” in ALT TV’s Top of the Rocks competition at Space Bar in 2006, & made it to number 1 on Amplifier.co.nz chart in April 2008. The band is currently recording a studio album, having made a limited release of the live album For the Record, & the 6-track CD The Wind & the Rain. The flexibility of the band allows it to play in a number of different configurations, depending on the venue & type of music needed. The band is equally at home in a rowdy Irish pub as it is in a vineyard, or performing a show in a theatre. The music of John Goudge is original & engaging. It can easily sweep from rock to pop to jazz, all in the same set. And to see the band live is a treat—all that energy on stage.. The band can also serve up a mix of classic cover songs if required.
