“I want to bring music back to what it used to be. When you could tell it was more about the passion, and love in the message. When people didn’t put out thoughts, they put out feelings.” Sean Hudson was born in Chicago and raised in the Twin Cities. As a child he would sing in church and school choirs and always knew doing music was his destiny. “I loved Boys II Men. Whenever Wanya Morris got on the track and belted those high notes, I’d get amazed! I would strain to hit the notes that he would”. Boys II Men along with Usher, Joe, Brian McKnight and R. Kelly were amongst the biggest influences of Sean’s love for R&B. He fell in love with the soulful vocal expressions of Whitney Houston, and eventually Tank. Sean won several talent shows until the aspect of original music came into play. One show in 2001 that he didn’t place in, a judge came to him and said “Your voice is amazing! Start writing your own songs to bring it out”. Sean immediately focused on songwriting.Sean began transforming the poetry he used to deal with emotions into songs. The most important thing to him was that the work was personal and relatable. After high school, Sean enlisted in the United States Air Force and served a four and a half year term. Even in the midst of putting his life on the line for his country serving in Iraq, he continued to make music. He also began producing his own tracks. Though he picked up on the process very fast, he was unsatisfied with the quality of his recordings, and felt his tracks could be better. In July of 2009 Sean discovered Musicians Institute. He didn’t know anyone in Los Angeles. But he knew the schooled everything he needed. He studied Keyboard Technology at MI for a year.a He now is enrolled in the Independent Artist Program, where he will learn the skills necessary to become a DIY (Do It Yourself) artist. “Music and I are in love. When I make tracks, I feel like the music is serenading me. It brings out my innermost feelings no matter what they are at the time. When I make a song, it is always a truly emotional experience. I feel like I would do anything for music, and it will do everything for me. No mater the genre, music and I have a relationship that can never go bad."
