DJ 5053 (real name Jose Pizarro) is an American hip hop DJ. He was born in Brooklyn, New York City, New York. He is of Puerto-Rican/American descent. In the 1990's, 5053 began to attend block parties, starting his DJ career at the age of sixteen. He eventually garnered widespread attention through his mixtape series &;I Can Do What I Want; and began selling his CD's with his artist at the time. DJ 5053 has hosted and put out mixtapes for over 8 years. He's also was involved with projects for Boogie Down Productions, Lil Flip, Trick Daddy and several others. He eventually released an independent LP on NFL/Ree Money Records titled & Life is not a game, Money is a Sport. He appeared on The VIP Section TV, The Hip Hop Source DVD and Cocaine City DVD. DJ 5053 switched from mainly hosting to really making an impression on the beats in the industry, working with such artist as Young Berg, Hot 97's DJ Kay Slay and Sexy Tina from Le Mega Radio in Philly. Event hosting also started to become big for 5053 once his mixtapes started getting that big buzz. From New York, Philly, Washington, Orlando, Miami, Virginia and of course Pennsylvania, he started working the crowd scene. Recently DJ 5053 has been busy working with his very own production company, NFL Productions'. Also, he was featured in The V Section magazine recently, where he talked about his current and future projects, his views on the worldwide hip hop scene, and the origin of his DJ Name.
