Bio
Reading Kay-E’s history you might mistake him for a Gemini for the split personalities.Born 28 years ago in Meadowlands, playing soccer from the age of 6 and later on playing for the Under 23 National Soccer team it was deemed natural that he would be a soccer legend. Later on he fell in love with music while still playing soccer. One had to win though and his love for music conquered. In 1996 he hung up his soccer boots and picked up a microphone. While guys his age were experimenting with drugs and alcohol he was experimenting with music. (Grew around thugs, drug dealers and law breakers, gamblers, but beat the HOOD stereotypes) Kay-E started writing his own music and recording from a friend’s place where they would play around with a headset recording music. Born in Meadowlands it was given that he would sing Kwaito or be a Dj but as luck would have it, he was introduced to TS Records’ recording artist Sashman by a friend and he was signed through BOYCHILD Entertainment based in Zola. It’s a norm for one to embrace a different township from where they were born. In Meadowlands yet he embraces Zola. (but fully represents and ride & die for Ndofaya) Kay-E has done numerous shows while working on his album and has recently shared the stage with critically acclaimed Mzekezeke. Sharing the stage with such a legend has surely rubbed off of Kay-E. Now that his album is complete, he is ready to take over the industry, with his unique sound of Hip hop .Tackling issues like Crime, women and his past experiences the only way he could. (also encouraging youth from the townships, through these past experiences) Hypnotizing rhyme schemes, nice flows, tight rhymes and nice sing along hooks which moves crowds and keeps listener’s heads bouncing. Caters for the young and old. Kay-E has about 50 songs recorded and still recording more. He lives and breathes music. He has a full show in place with dancers and costume changes which is currently unheard of for a Hip Hop artist. It is clear that he is not your typical M-rapper......And it is not difficult to understand why he is sometimes labelled the Neo of Mzansi Hip Hop and Mzansi Hip Hop being the Matrix...... So you better decide now whether you taking the Red Pill or the Blue pill but either way Kay-E’s music will touch you....
