PROFILE OF SIPHIWE SAX & VIWE NGUBEGUSHA We are the vocal talents for a South African based production company called Systematic Productions©. When musician and sound engineering student Jason Beck’s nine month old niece was diagnosed with cancer, he took it upon himself to give back something to CHOC®, the organization that had been so helpful to his family, as well as Jessica herself. A live performance band was formed: Siphiwe Sax on acoustic drums, rap vocals and beat box, Viwe Ngubegusha on acoustic guitar, beat box and lead vocals, Jason Beck on electric lead, “Cue” making and controlling electronic beats and Peter Kline on bass guitar. This mixture created the amazing live band sound of Saving Jessica©. This indie rock hip- hop fusion band is not just a band; they were quickly becoming renowned for putting on a show that keeps audiences on their feet. Masterminded and managed by Siphiwe Sax. Saving Jessica© started off just performing a set to raise money at the CHOC® music mix 2007 and grew into a group of young committed people, committed to music, and committed to keeping more than hope alive. Viwe studied sound engineering in at the South African Broadcasting Commission in Auckland Park, Siphiwe Sax worked at a publishing house called IE Publishing, and he is also a MC who decided to lend their talents to fund raising and Charity support. Unfortunately at the end of 2007 the band had to part ways as certain band members had separate vocations and responsibilities. Together, Siphiwe Sax and Viwe Ngubegusha decided to continue working and creating musical sensations, blending their different styles together in studio to create music called the CHOC® song, Turn Around and Dreamer (a solo project by Viwe). The CHOC® song was written by Sax and Viwe to create awareness amongst the youth in South Africa and what we ultimately hope around the world opening doors to a whole new age, demographic and community. It is an expression both from the point of view of the suffering child as well as that of his/her parents, the message is through consistent work together and support we could literally save lives. The two follow up songs are to solidify our placement as industry competitive producers and performing artists. We are to start performing under a new banner ‘Above the Below’ and would like to put together a live performance band (Drummer, DJ, Electric Lead Guitar and Bassist) for the United Kingdom. If signed both Siphiwe Sax and Viwe Ngubegusha are prepared to re-locate. In South Africa, at present we produce in a home studio on a Pro-Tools LE® System.
