Alexander (Alton Paul) has been singing professionally since 1992 with the release of his first album called “All You Need Is Faith”, with distribution spreading as far as Africa. He has gone on to independently produce five CDs with the latest being titled “You Are the One” completed December of 2005. His music career began to take off with substantial radio air play and television guest spots. That year brought continued success with the opportunity of working with Mom Winans and in 1995 singing with Rance Allen’s brother and niece, Steve Allen and his daughter. In 1996 Alton took a break from the music business to deal with family issues. After a six year leave, Alton, in 2002 started work on a project titled “He Brings the Sunshine”. Which was released in the Spring 2003, for the contemporary Christian genre and saw distribution as far as Sri Lanka. He followed that up with “Cold World” released in Fall of 2003. Late winter/early spring of 2004 brought “I Believe” for the Praise and Worship genre. “He Keeps My Dreams” followed in late summer/early fall of 2004; it being a mixture of Contemporary Christian along with some Praise and Worship. The latest work “You Are the One” is a nice mixture of Christian Smooth Jazz, Contemporary Christian, with a little Praise and Worship. This collaboration, between his friend Rhesa Siregar and himself, has turned out to be a very nice easy listening CD. Because Rhesa lives in Indonesia the project took on a few challenges, but all were over come which culminated in to what we hear today, “You Are the One”. Alton P. Alexander, has resided in Michigan most of his adult life, but hails from Chicago, IL. This is where he attributes his roots. Born to two ministers and the baby of a family of fifteen; six girls and nine boys, all musically inclined in one form or another, he garnered a taste from each to create his own style, tending towards Smooth Jazz. With “You Are the One” complete, Alton moves on to the next project, which will be called “Always” with expectations of a release date of Fall 2009. Having felt led of the Lord, he and his wife Robin, started a church work June of 2005, in a neighborhood that direly needs reaching out to. The two ministries will work hand in hand to communicate the love God showed the world by giving his Son, Jesus Christ to die upon a cross 2000 years ago; and the love God continues to show today by blessing Alton to write and produce music that glorifies Him and the name of His Son, Jesus Christ.
