Annicka is a hard rock band formed in May of 2009 in Songtan, South Korea. The band is composed of lead vocalist and guitarist Aaron Jones, bassist Dustin Judice and drummer Ben Cuthbert-- all of whom are Active Duty Air Force. The band was founded by Aaron and Ben after they met at a local musician rehearsal area on Osan Air Base, Korea. Aaron, a long-time solo artist and song writer, began introducing Ben to some of his music (most of which was written several years prior). It was clear that Aaron’s songs had great potential, so Annicka began to write and rehearse as a two-man team. After a month of writing and countless hours of practice, they recruited bassist Ariyel Avraham who completed the lineup for the next two months. During this time, Annicka was selected to play the 4th of July Liberty Festival at Osan Air Base, which brought in well over a thousand new fans and gave the band their first boost into the spotlight. Soon thereafter, the band began playing the local scene outside of Osan AB. Each time they played out, they were met by a packed house, with many people being turned away because the venues were filled to capacity! In August of 2009, Ariyel was asked to leave the band due to conflicts with his service obligations. The band was dormant for several weeks as Ben and Aaron pondered their next move or whether there would be a “next move”. They decided that they wanted to take the music in a different direction and agreed that a second guitarist would add a new dimension to their sound. They asked long-time friend Eric Vadala to step in on lead guitar, and not long after were also introduced to current bassist, and Berklee trained musician, Dustin Judice. The newly formed quartet began working on reshaping and refining the music, and after three weeks, were again playing sellout-shows in the local area. In September of 2009, the band traveled to Redhouse Studios in Seoul and began working on their independently-funded LP entitled "Among the Armistice" which contains seven of the original tracks produced by Ben and Aaron and engineered by Gee-Yong Han (of Tekken 6 fame). Two weeks into the recording process, and just three days prior recording guitar tracks, Eric departed the band unexpectedly to focus on career and family. In just 12 hours, Aaron, Ben, and Dustin reformulated all of the guitar tracks and readied the songs for the studio. The album features Aaron on lead/rhythm guitar and vocals, Dustin on lead guitar and bass, and Ben on drums, percussion and background vocals. The tracks were completed in late November of 2009, and are currently in the post-production phase. The album is scheduled to be released and available for purchase in early January 2010.
