Created in 2004, by Drummer Alex VanOver. Starting out, "Broken Shrine" were an instrumental band. But this wasn't the intentions of the band, finding the right vocalist was a very difficult task. Finding a dedicated Bassist was also very difficult. "Broken Shrine" are from a very small area called McCreary County KY. McCreary County is surrounded by Farms, Bluegrass & Country Music. "Broken Shrine" & McCreary County are completely opposite. Serious Rock Musicians are very limited in this area. In todays time, "Broken Shrine" are a strong/dedicated 5-piece band. Each member comes from a variety of different influences and this is the reason "Broken Shrine" stands out from other bands. Their sound is unique and almost cannot be classified. Some critics dislike "Broken Shrine" due to their diversity but others find their music creative and new. "Broken Shrine" considers themselves to be a Family-Unit and are labeled as "McCreary Counties Only Progressive Rock Band". Each member has the same mind-set and that is....TO BE HEARD!
