Bio

artist
Funky Town, CA

Scratch should be held accountable for his obsessive fondness and occasional abuse of the following – 4, 5, 6 stringed fretted and fretless electric basses, electric upright basses, guitars, horns, drums, hand percussion, sequencing, programming, arrangements, composition, scotch, HUGE tracts of land, bangy things, abrupt stops, tenacious over-playing, additional percussion-like devices, keys, oddly shaped discharges, banjo, bagpipes, piano, washboards, farty noises from the armpit areas, sitar, trombone, gelatinous mucks, herring AND all things scary sounding and full of vigor.......and Red Bull. Here's what some of the "lucky ones" have had to say about the Scratch - "Since his initial forays into the realm of musical under-appreciation, this guy has continued to defy the laws of musical tradition and marketability." – Lars Uberham "I just listened to 2 Shots 2 Tha Head (you’re such a thug)….well done. I once again feel like a funky spy searching the mean streets for some fried chicken & a little DANGER!" - Ryan "C-Dog" Cunningham "A listening experience akin to having one's colon crushed while feeling your inner Soul Train Dancer come alive with wanton abandon" – Lamont Butters "It kinda sucks.....but in a good way. Does that make sense?" – Skillet Jefferson "Sounds a little like Liquid Soul meets Primus meets Bela Bartok fueled by a little methamphetamine and god knows what else." - Bill M "Somewhere between Bootsy Collins, Mudvayne, Tower of Power, a James Bond film score and someone with a tasteless lack of restraint is where Scratch Jenkins finds his muse" - Rolo Washington III "The above statements sum the whole thing up fairly well I suppose. I’m down with my uber-blackness and loading up for continued obscurity. At present, I’m in the process of crankin’ out further "Spy-Funk" at the Sweat Shop Sound Labs Recording Studio here in SoCal, so stay tuned!" - Scratch Dig on the Scratch here as well - www.myspace.com/scratchjenkins www.edenmachine.com www.showcaseyourmusic.com/wreckalias Thanks for stopping by and suffering through the absurdity of it all.
