Different Place, in their previous incarnation as No Through Road (NTR), supported the Alabama 3 in Brixton, played Guilfest 2009, the Gosport Strummerfest ’09 & ’10 and the Movers and Shakers Festival in London, the inaugural Alresford Music Festival 2010, along with a whole number of gigs in the Portsmouth and Southampton areas. They have also recorded acoustic sessions on local radio stations Delta Radio and Eagle FM. Different Place was started by principal songwriter and vocalist/guitarist Mark Vennis and bassist Dave Sweetenham as a vehicle to play original and contemporary rock songs. They recruited local drummer Matt Parkinson and were soon joined by virtuoso guitarist Jesse Hunnisett.
