With the reputation Houston rappers have made for the city, city native Mr. No Play stands as one of the city’s youngest ole’ skool artists in the game. Since his teenage years, he’s been running the streets trying to survive as a hustler and make a better lifestyle for himself. But like every other aspiring artist in the streets, drugs and alcohol, money and women plagued the young rapper and started him down a lifestyle full of legal issues. He performed at several late night clubs, winning different freestyle contests and rap battles, but he spent the majority of his time making the same decisions that were causing his problems. After making his name known in the city’s underground network, Mr. No Play finally got a break when he signed his first record deal with Trunk Tight Records at the age of 18. But the high-life was short-lived. The company went bankrupt and forced Mr. No Play to redirect his attention to the streets. Many years went by in this continuous circle. Having lost many things in his life—family, friends, and time (after serving several years in the judicial system, cumulatively) – Mr. No Play is making a conscious effort to prove that he is more than his history perceives. He is presenting a new style and coming to re-establish himself as Houston’s homeboy. Along with his music, he is also making arrangements to revive his other projects. Always been a man of many trades, Mr. No Play has always made sure to “stack his paper” in more ways than one. He will be bringing his independent label, Chance-A-Million Ent., and company clothing line, C.A.M Wear, into recognition.
