J JIVES BIO Sometimes your ears can really deceive you, and when you listen to J JIVES your ears are gonna tell you that this guy was born to rap. But that couldn't be further from the truth. Born and raised in the relatively peaceful country setting of Hanover Jamaica, J JIVES, August 8th 1989) would have been much more likely to lay back into the smooth groove of reggae. But this ain't the story a boy who was born to spit; it's about the boy maturing into a young man.J JIVES was about 11 years old when he heard his first rap album - Life and Times of S. Carter. When he moved to Canada in 2002 J JIVES the rapper began to emerge from the influences of Jay Z,NAS,Bounty Killa, and Beanie Man; but maybe even more so from the influences of the big city and the challenges of trying to blend into a new culture. Still, it wasn't until he heard 50 Cent that J JIVES knew it was time to throw his own 2 cents in. After J JIVES migrated to Toronto, he attended more than just public school. In the school of hard knocks, tension builds, mistakes are made, lessons are learned, and if you're J JIVES, words begin to thrust from your chest; from despair and from hope. In the J JIVES style you feel the patience and pensiveness as the story unfolds, and you can't help but think that maybe a bit of the reggae boy still lingers in the rapper man. Due to unforeseen circumstances beyond J JIVES control,he would leave the rap scene until the age of 20 when he would return to Action House studios to reclaim the mic. Maybe it's fate, or just hard work that those recent collaborations at Action House have produced the smash hits "Mama Dont Cry" and "You Could Have" It featuring MELLO undoubtedly it is J JIVES time to wear the crown.
