Bio
David Estrella (born July 20, 1981) also known as Mercy Estrella, was born and raised in the Bronx, New York. Mercy is the son of a Puerto Rican mother and Colombian father. He was raised Christian Pentecostal. Mercy’s passion for music was seen as early as a school-age child, when he would participate and sing in school plays. At the age of 14, Mercy joined worship singing groups “New Creation,” “Sealed by Christ,” and Reggaeton/Hip-Hop genre group “Crossed Out.” Throughout the years, among many who have inspired him in pursuing his artistic and musical career are Grupo Niche, El Gran Combo, Luis Fonsi, and Don Omar. In 2010, Mercy merged together with Edgar Horta (Carnaag), a life-long childhood friend, to pursue their dreams in singing and became well-known within the music industry. Carnaag and Mercy have worked collaboratively to put together “Cuerpo Brutal” (Brutal Body). In 2012 Mercy decided to persue his music career not only in Latin Urban Music but also work on R&B projects by continuing as a soloist. In 2013 Mercy composed his latest song “Que Me Ames” with the help of Johnathan Ramos also known as “Johni the Voice”. Mercy recently in August 2013 worked together with MicMassive on the spanish remix of the song “Bad” for the mix album of Back 2 Hip Hop NY with his R&B style giving the song that Spanish flavor. Mercy is currently working on his EP album entitled “Que Me Ames”. Mercy envisions that his music will not only move bodies rhythmically but positively inspire, encourage, and empower the minds of others.
