Jamal Griffin born October 19, better known as J-Smeiz is a Panamanian American rapper. He was born in Long Island, Ny but was raised in San Diego, Ca. At the age of 17, J-Smeiz linked up with the rap group, Franchyze/Awax and wrote his first eight bars. He shocked everyone, including himself not only with his lyrical ability but the way it was embraced by the other rappers in the group. His knowledge on the competition and difficulty of getting into the industry left him a bit unsure so he went back and forth between music and the idea of another career path, but nothing made him more passionate and driven than music did. A year after rapping with Franchyze/Awax, J-Smeiz linked up with three close friends, P.Smooth, Mike D. and A.T. to create their own rap group formally known as U-Members. A couple of months after forming the group they added two other important pieces to the group, Lonnie B. (singer/writer) and Jewelz Finazzo (producer/rapper) and with this team they all shared the same vision and dream to make good music and put their own style into the industry.
