BIG SHANG BIO One of Washington, D.C.'s finest, BIG SHANG realizes that there's not a lot to know about D.C. There's been little success in the past for D.C. with artist Question Mark Asylum and probably the most successful rapper out of D.C., Nonchalant, who brought you "5:00 in the Morning," D.J. Cool "Let Me Clear My Throat" was a huge hit, and E.U. Classic doing "Da Butt" was also very successful, but what else does D.C. have to offer? The answer to your question - Big Shang - a multitalented producer and writer who lived all over the metropolitan area of D.C., V.A., and Maryland. He started his career in 1989 and has not, no, could not be stopped since. He's a 250-pound wrecking ball, a powerhouse that's a fore to be reckoned with and has a no-nonsense hardcore East Coast style with a special twist. In 1993, Big Shang moved to Houston, TX to live with his father. He is currently staying in Houston and he adds a hint of southern twang to his hardcore smashmouth style. With songs like "Blade Runna" and "Dread Lock Rasta," he's bound to be the next big thing. With three independent albums already under his belt (Mic Controla, Washington Bullet, and Jessie James), he shows no signs of stopping. He's already received praise for his Washington Bullet album and got an article written about this album in the Houston Daily Cougar (the official college newspaper at the University of Houston). He received a loyal fan base from his self-produced 2003 debut(Washington Bullet) and he has distributed his 2004 debut "Jessie James" worldwide. Shang also recieved an interveiw in the award winning WWS Magazine and has done countless number of show since then. Shang was handpicked to take the place of Wu Tang Clans "Ghost Face Killah" after he cancled a show at the Bench (Houstons premiere hip hop venue). Shang has also dabbled in club promoting. He has arranged and hosted 3 successful shows so far, and he continues to promote shows. Shang is now currently working on his new project "Natural Disaster," which is scheduled for release in the first quarter of 2007. So, remember his name and watch out for him in the near future.
