Real Name: Vincent Delano Miller Stage Name: E- mel Age: 20 Birth Place: Chicago, Illinois Dec 2 1986 Web: www.myspace.com/officialemelmusic Email Address: [email protected] Dear Reader, When I was around the age of eight I discovered that I had the talent to rhyme. I could remember being in class helping other children rhyme and write mini poems. At the age of nine I was inspired by my cousin to be a rapper. He was already pursuing a rap career with a group called the snypaz. They were already signed by Rap A Lot Records and they were locally famous on Chicago’s west side. When I was around age ten my cousin ( lil chilla) invited me and my family to a concert on Chicago’s west side, where the Snypaz and many other artist from Rap A lot Records were performing. That day my family and I went to that concert and I saw two kids a little older than I perform. Seeing this advanced the love I had for hip hop and entertaining. I felt as though becoming a rapper was my destiny. When I went home that day I wrote my first rap to a beat called The Art Of Noise. The song I wrote was a gangster rap called pop pop till the day I die. It had a simple chorus and the verse consisted of 16 bars of my own and another 16 bars of my cousins. As time passed my lyrics advanced. By seventh grade I was a some what good rapper that expressed my feelings and emotions in poems or raps. When I got into eighth grade I got into my first battle with a this guy named Chase he was pretty good but every one thought that I demolished the competition. From that day on me and Chase decided to enter into a rap group with my best friend Troy and Chase’s best friend Kellem. We went by the name of Homicide. Later on that year we went on TV. and preformed our first song we ever wrote. Even though we made a fool out of ourselves we still got a recording contract cause the producers liked Troy. The production company that tried to sign us went by the name of Mac Moe Records. Since they only wanted to sign me and troy our group split up, and troy and I went on to record our first song. The song was called Off One Take. We named it that cause the first time we went on TV. people were trying to sign us so it was like off one take. Two weeks later after One Take was recorded, Mac Moe landed us a gig on Chicago’s west side. When the day came to pass, Troy stood me up and I had to do the gig by myself. From that day forward I Knew that I was done with the group thing and that I would be a solo artist. Three days later Mac Moe called me and Troy in for a meeting since the song got such a great response. Mac Moe had two contracts that had a signing bonus of 5,000 dollars each. It wasn’t long before we found out what sounded like a good deal was basically a scheme to get over on us. At that point we dropped Mac Moe and went on to high school. In my freshman year I discovered my true talent for rapping when I was freestyleing against a group of my high schools best rappers. I attended Bowen High School on Chicago’s south side. Here is where I choose to be a gangster rapper due to how I lived and what I’ve seen. After three years of high school I graduated and went on to the Navy 14 days after graduation. At the age of 18 I realized that I was a better rapper that 75% of the rappers that was receiving radio play, But since I dedicated my life to serving my country I stopped rapping. A year past and I met a young man named Nate Norcome. He was a singer and a producer with the plan to be famous even though he was in the navy. Later on that year he introduced me to a beat making program that was called Fruity Loops. I got hooked on making beats and started to make music production a career as well as rapping. At this point we realized that our combination was to dangerous when we produced together. It was like a danger zone. We than decided to start a production team called Danger Zone Productions, its no group just a family and a production team that’s trying to get our music to the rest of the world. Now days I’ve been working hard and networking to put myself in a marketable position to get signed. . I understand that time is a virtue that cant afford to be wasted, so I can assure you that investing time in me as an artist will be an investment in itself.
