Dave McIsaac is an accomplished musician, singer, song writer, producer and audio engineer. Growing up in S.E. Idaho he began playing violin at the tender young age of 6. He joined the school's orchestra then began playing with the Idaho Falls Civic Symphony when he was only in 5th grade. He was able to perform with the All-state symphony and the All-northwest symphony in high school and went on to study classical violin under the talented direction of Betty Petrie at Idaho State University in the early 70's majoring in Music Education. But before completing his education the performance bug bit him and he knew his life was meant to be on stage rather than in the classroom. He left Idaho and ventured to the bay area in California where he joined up with a group called Mineral King. After playing in the bay area for around a year the group packed up and headed for Atlanta, GA where a friend of a friend knew someone associated with (You know how the story goes...). The connection he thought they had fizzled out, but they did get rather lucky anyway and landed a man named James Progris who signed them to a management deal and eventually got them a publishing & recording contract with The Lowery Group (Huge at the time!). But drugs, alcohol, and a lot of other things got in the way of good decision making and it all came crashing down. So the late 70's found Dave McIsaac back in Idaho scrambling for a new direction. Little did he know he was about to enter into the world of Country Music. Playing in a jazz duo he came up with an idea to merge classical, jazz and rock together with an old traditional fiddle piece called The Orange Blossom Special. Not really thinking anything would come of it, he and his jazz guitar playing friend decided to try this new version of music out on an unsuspecting crowd while playing a benefit for the Heart Association. After some polite clapping for their renditions of some classic jazz pieces they played his version of The Orange Blossom Special and got a standing ovation! Next thing he knew, he was to become a much sought after "country" fiddler. For the next 25 years he got to perform with some of the top country musicians in America playing all over the the U.S. and Canada. Dave McIsaac's music would be hard to describe as genre specific. With influences from Bach to Duke Ellington, from Charlie Daniels to Led Zeppelin, you can find a little bit of everything in his music. Just when you think he's a country fiddler he'll tear it up with a screaming electric violin solo. His latest CD titled "Clean Livin'" is a solo effort and is slated to be released in late December, 2011 by Diddle Records, his own label.
