Here it is!! Finally, after 8 months of hard work and many a beer, the new Nic Slade album, Gemini Moon, is finished. Nic was the main force in well known South-African band, The Diamond Dogs during the late 80's and 90's. He and Arno hooked up a few years after the band had split and decided to record an album of the songs they used to play live. The end product is a combination of storytelling and great melodies. The songs were written over a period of 10 years, with some earlier Diamond Dogs tracks like "Going Home" and "Can't get you out of my mind" revamped for the album. "Alone", "Casual Conversation", "Like Water" and "As long as you still come" are brand spanking new tracks written during many late night nights at Arno's Garage. "I shall be released" used to be the standard opening number at gigs, so it was included for nostalgia sake (not to mention the fact that it is a stonking version of the Bob Dylan classic....) J.C. and Nic's voices really blend well on this track. Intro solo by Kevin Muirhead. 2nd solo is Arno and 3rd solo is Nigel...a bit of everything here. So, sit back and enjoy. Let us know which is your favorite track and which ones you think should be punted as singles.
