Introduced to the world as Brent Lopez June 25, 1985 later known to the industry as BINX. As a child Binx had to grow up really fast, he doesn’t have pleasant as a child. His mom was always sick and his family struggled daily to make ends meat; paying bills were more than a notion. Growing up in a section eight (8) neighborhood didn’t help, his brother sold drugs but it still wasn’t enough, that made it easy for Binx to adapt to the fast lane. By the time he was in 6th grade he was already laced up slanging drugs until the wee hours of the morning. By the young age of 12 Binx found himself in jail, that’s when he first picked up a pin and put it to the paper. At this time his style of writing did not come in the form of raps instead he wrote poetry and letters to GOD; asking GOD how he could change his and his family’s life. Although Binx had a strong belief in GOD from the age of 12-19 the streets had him by the boots and the court system became his new family. Throughout this time he made friends and more enemies than he could handle. The eye opening experience of prison and death among the friends who once stood before him encouraged him to continue writing letters to GOD. Eventually his words found a beat and he felt like this was something he could be good at. Even though there are a million people with the same story as his he feels there are more than a million he could help prevent from going through the trials and tribulations the streets dealt him as a youngster. “My goal in music is not to make it rich instead I want people to hear what I have to say. His influences are none other than the legendary Tupac, Spice 1, Mac Mall, Nas, Goodie Mob, Domino, Tech 9 and Bonz. Binx has been extremely busy the past year he has been performing non stop at venues such as Midwest Got Talent, Shae Reilly’s, the Elks, The Rock, Digital Underground and The Spot. Binx is a product of Thru Da Roof Productions he is managed by Chantella Wallace and plans to drop his first album before January 2008. He promises to give you a variety of hits, real lyrics and beats that will keep you on your feet. Right now Binx is assisting his Thru Da Roof family members with their albums, recording and engineering their tracks.
