Coda Red is BET'S All Stars!!!!!!! Performing on stage at 106 & Park with a viewing audience of millions, in front of a nearly sold-out crowd of 8,000, from the world renowned, Carnegie Hall of New York City, to the many school auditoriums around Iowa, Coda Red continues to prove that their triple-threat high energy performances are not a fluke. Arising from the heart of Iowa, otherwise known as the "field of dreams", Coda Red has cultivated a soulful sound in resemblance of legendaries such as the O'Jays, Commodores, and even the late J.B. and Marvin Gaye. The ability to concoct soul stirring lyrics adds an element of surprise to their CD "Fever". The head-bobbing party track "Next to Me" is a mean fusion of therapeutic, soulful voices and new school R&B melodies which demonstrates Coda Red's blend that's strictly one of a kind. m The fever for the energetic R&B trio has grown significantly since their initial introduction at JC Penny's and local talent competition appearances. While still in high school, Coda Red grew accustomed to the hysteria following the band's live act at middle school auditoriums and high school homecomings. Oftentimes, female fans would become too aggressive after Reggie, Ashon, and Dante' performed and stampede the group back stage, leaving smaller fans with minor injuries and trampling over others to get an autograph. After high school graduation in 2002, the group made a decision to give full focus and dedication to building a career in music. Finding a recording studio in Iowa was like finding a needle in a hay-stack. Fortunately, this stumbling block was put to rest when Coda Red built their own recording facility in the basement of Dante's house. The construction of the studio proved to be a great investment. Coda Red immediately began working on a self produced demo with production and engineering genius of "Big Mixx" (Dante's older brother). Within a year of graduating high school, Coda Red had their 1st single "Boyfriend" doing well overseas (BBC 1xtra) and on satellite radio (Fat Mike, Chicago), they stole the show at a nearly sold-out 8,000 capacity seating concert showcasing artists Kelly Rowland and Ja Rule in front of a hometown crowd. In 2004, Coda Red felt the time had come to see if the group could generate the same type of enthusiasm as they had with their Iowa fans. They then packaged up copies of their CD, loaded their 1988 Dodge van with their belongings, and headed to Hollywood. The trio took up living accommodations at the Motel 6 off of Hollywood Blvd, but funds were quickly depleting. Collectively, the group had about $700.00 and nowhere to go. Coda Red knew it was time to call on the omnipotent, our "Father in Heaven". [Looking at each other, laughing in remembrance as Ashon recalls]. Within 15 seconds of ending their prayer and saying Amen, they received a call from Big Mixx, who didn't have a clue about their situation, saying a friend of his was looking for someone to sublet his $400.00 per month studio apartment located in Van Nuys. It was these types of blessings that followed Coda Red throughout their stay in California and travels across the states. A big moment came for Coda Red when they met Sean (Tubby) Holiday. Tubby gave them some tracks and said, "see what you can do with these fellas". They later met back with Tubby to let him hear the finished tracks. One of his first questions was, "how was it that Clive Davis and the J Records office was buzzing about a track he gave us and he hadn't heard it yet?" While listening to the track, Tubby called Producer, Saint Nick who produced the track and said, "Man we got a hit". After leaving our meeting with Tubby, we felt we were one step away from our eight year old dream. Things fell apart before any negotiations were made, partially due to Coda Red's lack of representation and promotion. Shortly after that meeting, Coda Red flew back to Iowa to regroup. A few months later, backstage at a concert Coda Red met a choreographer by the name of Drock (Lloyd, Sammie, B5). Drock invited them to workout with him in Atlanta to mold a hot new original dance style. Now, the fiery sound of Coda Red is matched with entertaining dance energy that's dynamite! Coda Red just made history in their home state of Iowa as the first group to perform on BET!! They also got invited back to perform in August as one of 2007 All Stars!.And now with an arsenal of Managers and Promoters in there corner led by O.G POPS(T.J.)of "ON THE RUN ENT".THEY ARE A GROUP TO BE REKONED WITH!!..Ladies and Gentlemen It's Coda, It's Coda, It's Coda Red Baby...I.I.I.I.I.A!!!!!
