Artists like Patti LaBelle, Boyz ll Men, Zhane & Jill Scott have all raised the bar of expectation for talent hailing from the City of Brotherly Love; thus Kia Hamm is no exception to this standard. As a young girl, Kia began her career singing in the church choir. Soon she'd start to daydream about her future standing before large audiences of cheering fans. Shortly thereafter, Kia formed a group with three of her best friends. The group would soon go on to impress crowds with numerous wins in various talent shows. It's no accident that Kia became a much sought after vocalist. Fans would line up to catch her performing with various groups around LA at places such as the Temple Bar in Santa Monica and the Sunset Room in Hollywood. In 2003 after a stellar performance at the LA Songwriters Network Showcase, Kia set her sights on a solo career. She finally took her skills to the studio and recorded her very first independent work. The album is a gem for those longing for a taste of vintage Kia Hamm. Kia Hamm's new CD, "I Am Kia Hamm", and the single "Friend of Mine" are both available at www.cdfreedom.com or visit Kia's myspace page at www.myspace.com/kiahamm2
