Bio
We all can agree that the music business has changed dramatically over the years. Who would have thought that Hip-Hop would be the most popular genre of music of the 21st century? I have always marveled at a rappers ability to communicate while entertaining, and rhyme in a particular style that separated him or her from another rapper. That talent and individualism is what made me fall in love with Hip-Hop. But now a days, it seems like talent is the last thing most record companies are concerned about when signing an artist. When I turn on the radio I rarely hear a Hip-Hop record that I enjoy. The beat might be great, but the vocals and creativity are terrible. You would think that the lyrical skills of rappers would have improved since the beginning of Hip-Hop. Don’t get me wrong, there are some great rappers in the business. But most don’t get the publicity they deserve because they are unique. That is why the concepts of Hip-Hop records are starting to sound the same. There are plenty of other topics to write about besides drugs, sex, clubs and money. The rappers who get the most record spins and video plays don’t have a genuine love for music, because someone is telling them what to write about, depending on what is hip and popular on the streets. They have even quoted themselves that money, cars, clothes, women, and fame are the only reasons they got in the music business. That is a disgrace to everybody who takes this job seriously. Being that street fame is the main objective for most aspiring artist, this Hip-Hop quartet from St.Louis, MO decided that Streetfame should be the name of their group. Unlike most artists who just want fame and money, Streetfame genuinely has a deep passion for music. Plus the talent they posses raises the bar for competition. Ba’Bra, a rapper residing in Miami, Fl who has featured on various recording artists albums such as Narles Barkley, recently heard Streetfame on their website and rated them a 5 being the best. This Biography was written to express Streetfame’s feelings about the current state of Hip-Hop, and also to explain why signing Streetfame to your record label would be a great business decision. Streetfame is currently self promoting their promo cd which contains eight of their most popular songs. They have two websites and are also preparing to be featured on a mix tape produced DJ Southan Bred, who’s the DJ for Dem Franchise Boys(So So Def). Besides promoting, Streetfame is constantly in the studio. Streetfame consist of four members: A.J. age 26; Mall age 24; Jermaine age 23; and Marcus age 23. A.J., Mall, and Jermaine are brothers, and Marcus is their cousin, but he is more like a brother. They have been together since diapers, so you can imagine how close they are. Their parents discovered their desire to entertain at a early age. They would put on shows at family gatherings, imitating artist such as Michel Jackson and New Edition. They all participated in school sports and were considered to be the best of the best in the neighborhood. But playing sports was not their passion. Streetfame began writing songs during the end of elementary and the beginning of middle school. Friends, family, and others would encourage and commend them on their rhyming and creativity. Streetfame got serious about being a recording group after they seen the reaction of listeners at parties, studios and poetry sessions. Streetfame planes to start their own label and become successful musicians and producers in the future. Streetfame has had plenty of record deal offers, but were deals on a low scale level. Entertainment lawyer Emmit McAuliffe, who is the lawyer for St. Louisan Hip-Hop recording artist JKwon, encouraged Streetfame to aim for record deals offered by companies with credentials and finances that could support the groups dream. Emmit McAuliffe supports Streetfame on their quest to getting a major record deal. AND PLEASE DON'T FORGET TO VOTE ON YA WAY OUT!! For more on Streetfame: www.myspace.com/streetfame53
