Bio
"IF LED ZEPPLIN, JAMES BROWN, RED HOT CHILL PEPPERS, PRINCE, 2PAC & PORTHISHEAD HAD A BASTARD CHILD. . . IT WOULD BE MARC MAYS & URBAN ROCK!" Marc’s Bio - Past To Present Marc Mays, A.K.A. Marcus Orealius, started out on the same path as many of the other artist’s in his family by singing in his local church choir. There was always a piano or keyboard around to ‘goof on’ and at an early age, he began to hear and learn about harmonies and how they worked in relation to singing. He watched and listened to the voices and the piano, and began to develop his talent early on. Marc’s mother played an integral part in his musical upbringing by supporting his wishes to play to the guitar and even supported his decision to quit school to pursue performing on a more professional level. His early experiences led him toward a rouge scholar lifestyle where he learned by ‘doing’. He spent many years working jobs that would allow him the precious time needed to foster his music discipline. Marc has ‘come up’ through the clubs performing from Michigan to Texas and Florida to New York. He has successfully co-financed and promoted over 40,000 miles worth of touring and nearly 300 dates in the span of only one year! As a touring musician, Marc has earned endless “flight miles” in stage experience and has made a solid impact when he has traveled. His long road and diverse experiences have allowed Marc the opportunity to work with a wide range of other professionals including, but not limited to, Bad religion, Garbage, Blue Oyster Cult, and Godsmack with a final culmination toward his groundbreaking venture with Robert Reives and SGM. “I feel we’ve created a new breed and style of music and songwriting that is yet to be heard, but is being embraced by a world-wide demographic. The A.M., radio-like melodies I’ve had burning in my head are at home laced over a new generation of cool beats”, explains Marc. While many people call music entertainment, Mays considers it his existence, and the only really reason he is ‘allowed to be’. Marc explains, “I need melodies the way we must breathe. Sometimes we’re gasping and other times a good slow, deep lungful brings good health. My songs are the stories of my life, some facts and some fictions or metaphors.” Mays is a true musician who makes music for the people out of love, loss, giving, and taking. He is always on a path toward a newfound strength and respect for his art and finds that everything he is exists somewhere in his songs. And…and he states, “It is my blessing to share them in God’s love.” Marc’s Credits: · M.O.D.
