In August of 2001, in the bustling city of San Jose, California, rock music was slowly deteriorating when hip-hop and rap exploded in the bay area, dominantly taking over the majority of ears in the common populous. In accordance to, a teenage quadruplet group of childhood and mutual friends decided to take action and contribute to what was left of the rock scene. Hence, the band Kobalt was formed. Through the daily grind, two of the members bid adieu to peruse their own calling, as the other two listened to their innate reason and musical pulse to thrive and rejuvenate the musical rock scene. As something divine would have, the two remaining members fell upon another childhood friend who also felt the rhythmical throbbing. Thus, naturally and almost immediately was initiated within Kobalt. With everything falling into place, the triplet now had one more spot and were invisibly pulled to the last piece of their puzzle through a network of mutual friends. Soon enough there was a renaissance of Kobalt with the last remaining member in place. As pure and strong as the natural element ..Ko"balt.., n. Cobalt, they made their mark on the local music scene drawing out large crowds and selling out local venues. They sell out their CD: Formation of the Sun at almost every show. Amazingly, Kobalt is enticing and uprooting almost every age demographic! Kobalt now stands stronger than ever, with their four powerful performers which consists of: David Unger - monopolizing with his Rhythm Guitars, Keyboards, and Vocals; Patrick DeRosa - topping the Richter Scale on the Bass Guitars and back-up vocals, Scott Berbick - tearing it up on the Lead Guitar, and newest member Scott Sutfin hammering out the beats. Kobalt's music will forevermore remain influencing and enthralling.
