Born in the city of Toronto Canada, Shane Redway alias Redway was always involved in music. After moving from their project home on Keele and Finch, and a tragic family death his parents thought it was best to move him out to a safer environment in the city of Mississauga. Growing up Redway was always involved in music. Redway sang in the church children’s choir, took place in many musicals in grade school, and even little community showcases. Always trying to follow in his brothers footsteps he would always be stealing his brothers rap cd and listening to them. Being brought up in Christian home rap music was not allowed to be played at high volume so Redway would always somehow sneak his way around doing so. One day at the age of 12 he had seen his brothers outside rapping with their friends and Redway was always known as an attention seeker so he decided to jump in. Little did his brothers know that then and there was the display of true young talent? After realizing this musical gift at the tender age of 12 he chose to sing, but also to rap. He decided to try it out with a group of friends that went by the name of Sheridan Records. From the year of 7th grade all the way to the 9th grade Redway began to develop his talent more and more as he went along. By his 10th grade year at Loyola Catholic Secondary School he decided to test his talent in their high school talent show. Being Redway’s first ever public performance since he was a child he didn’t know how the crowd would respond to his rapping abilities. The outcome of his performance was amazing and received a standing ovation. Redway did not stop there as he kept pushing towards greatness within himself, and throughout his music. Throughout grade 11 Redway’s talent was beginning to really be discovered as he was asked to make the hit song for 2006 “Tdotwire Freak” which was probably the biggest underground joint released that summer. Everyone had it on their internet pages, ipods, and even dj’s were spinning the song at clubs. From there he was asked to perform “Tdotwire Freak” at club 108, open for Chamillionaire, open for JR Writer, and also take part in the 2007 Rizing Stars Talent Showcase. Through the years Redway has grown and is now looked at as one of the most dominant and strongest young recording artists in the Canadian industry. At only 17 he is currently working with producers such as, Rich Kidd, Boi-1da, Scena, and even SP-12 beats. Redway is going to turn a lot of heads musically in this day and age and also in the future to come. This is a display of talent that should be closely magnified and not slept on.
