Bio

Ceenas is a Southwest Philly native born in the 70's. He grew up on reggae, soul, and disco in his house, courtesy of his parents: a Jamaican father and a Brooklyn born mother. From an early age he absorbed a wide range of music until 1983 when RUN DMC broke through and changed his life. From that point on Ceenas only wanted to hear hardcore rap and whatever was the hardest and most innovative he gravitated towards. This mindset also characterizes his approach to beatmaking, which he seriously took up in 1997. Hard, inventive, versatile, and above all funky are the principles which guide his philosophy of production. There you have it. Enjoy the tracks, peace.
