I'm a recently graduated senior from Deering High School. I've been playing drums since 2000, when I was the sole percussionist of the Baxter Elementary School Band, and they only let me play a drum pad and a xylophone. Until 2001 I practiced by drumming on stacks of books and stomping, while I took lessons at Portland Percussion. By the end of '01 I had a junior Mapex kit, but have since upgraded to a Ludwig rock kit. : ) I picked up guitar in 2005, bought myself an acoustic like most wannabe-rockstars do and taught myself the basics. In the past couple months I've been trying to improve my playing/songwriting skillz, so we'll see how that goes. I took piano lessons in 2006 at Starbird for six months or so...played some keys in the Deering Jazz Ensemble. Also had a great time singing tenor in the Deering Choir. Those music courses almost made DHS worthwhile. (I graduated a semester early, thank god). so, that's my life story. see what you think. if you like it, let me know...feedback is very much appreciated. keep in mind that all I have at my disposal right now is GarageBand, a USB keyboard, and my computer's built-in mic. maybe I'll upgrade at some point...but making these tunes is just a hobby. I mainly play drums for Norwood, going strong under some name and lineup since 2003. that's about it. enjoy!
